Important Diploma Information For The Class Of 2025 And Their Families
These dark, grey January days make June feel so far away, but trust us – June 12th will be here before we know it!
We are getting ready to order your diplomas. We will submit to the printer your name as it appears in our Skyward records. Here is what we need you to do: CHECK YOUR MOST RECENT REPORT CARD (Quarter 1) IN SKYWARD AND MAKE SURE THE NAME THAT APPEARS ON THAT REPORT CARD IS THE NAME YOU WANT ON YOUR DIPLOMA!
Note: When you login to Student/Family Access, your First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name will appear. It will appear this way even if you provided your full, legal name upon enrollment. For example, if you enrolled as JANE SALLY JONES, the name you see when you open Student/Family Access will be JANE S. JONES. However - your report card, when printed, will show JANE SALLY JONES.
Some things to look for:
- Name is spelled correctly.
- Skyward limits the number of characters we can use – if you have two or more middle names, a hyphenated middle name or a very long first or last name, it is possible that it may have cut-off some the last few letters.
- Nickname or Given name is preferred for a diploma, but not what is listed in Skyward.
If the name on the report card is ‘Rosie M. Smith’ that is what will be printed on the diploma. If the student's legal name is ‘Rose Marie Smith’ and you want your legal name printed on your diploma, you need to let us know.
Note that only reasonable changes or updates will be accepted.
Please review your information and reach out to us if change is needed no later than February 6, 2025. Changes can be submitted to shsregistrars@issaquah.wednet.edu. Once we have submitted the order to the printer, it cannot be changed. We can order a replacement diploma, but there will be a charge of approx. $60 and it will take 6 to 8 weeks to receive. The cost of the replacement Diploma will be the responsibility of the student/parent.
Diplomas are for ceremonial purposes only and are not an official record of your high school career or graduation. Your Transcript is your legal record of high school completion and graduation. Nothing that we change for Diploma purposes will impact what is printed on the Transcript.
