Spartan Families,
I wanted to make you aware that today a group of Skyline students participated in a student-led and student-organized walkout in response to concerns related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities.
At approximately 2:25 p.m., an estimated 250 Skyline students left campus and gathered in front of Sammamish City Hall. Some students returned to campus shortly after, while others were away from campus for a longer period of time. Students from Eastside Catholic may also have been present at the gathering.
We always support students’ rights to free speech. Skyline administration and school security did not lead nor participate in the event, but were present to supervise and ensure student safety during the walkout.
As a reminder, any student not present in class during this time should have been marked absent by their teacher.
